TEHRAN – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that the Islamic Revolution is serving as a model for the popular uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa.

“The arrogant powers front, led by the United States, knows very well that the Islamic Revolution has been the model of these popular movements. That is why they are trying to portray the Islamic Revolution of Iran as a failed and unsuccessful experience,” the Leader said in a meeting with the staff and officials of the Intelligence Ministry on Thursday.
The Islamic awakening in the region has been inspired by the Islamic Revolution and is the result of the Iranian nation’s resistance against the arrogant powers, he stated.
“The current developments in the region will certainly affect the future of the world, so these developments should be actively monitored and their different dimensions should be thoroughly examined,” the Leader noted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the staff and officials of the Intelligence Ministry for their diligent efforts and great services to the Islamic system.
The Intelligence Ministry is not modeled on any intelligence service in the world and it is one of its advantages, he said.
The Leader added that the Intelligence Ministry personnel should take positions independent of political groups and factions and should show sensitivity to the attempts made by the enemies and “faulty intellectual and political groupings” to infiltrate into the country.
Ayatollah Khamenei also visited an exhibition staged at the building of the Intelligence Ministry displaying the security and intelligence achievements of different sections of the ministry
